Nominate
Nominate a Veteran
Every Salute18 Experience starts with someone brave enough to be nominated by the people who know their story best.
Why Nominations Matter
Salute18 doesn't go looking for veterans — communities bring them to us. A spouse, a fellow service member, a friend, a neighbor who knows exactly what someone carried and thinks the world should know it too. That's how every honoree is found.
Who Can Be Nominated
- A decorated veteran from any branch, any era
- Someone with a story of service, sacrifice, or resilience worth telling
- No self-nominations — this has to come from someone who knows them
How It Works
- 01
Submit a nomination
Tell us who they are, what they carried, and why their story matters. Video welcome, not required.
- 02
Our team reviews every submission
We read every story that comes in — nothing gets auto-filtered.
- 03
Selected veterans are contacted directly
If chosen, we reach out to the veteran (and you, the nominator) to start planning their Experience.
- 04
The story gets told
Every trip is documented — short film, podcast, long-form — so what they carried is never forgotten.
A Few Things Nominators Ask
- Does the veteran need to know they're being nominated?
- Not necessarily — many of the most meaningful nominations are a surprise. We handle the outreach with care either way.
- How long does the review process take?
- There's no fixed timeline, and that's intentional. Every nominee carried something into this process; a story, a sacrifice, a life. We take the time to review it with the care and due diligence it deserves. We'd rather get it right than get it fast.
- Is there any cost to the veteran?
- No. Every Salute18 Experience is fully hosted — travel, lodging, meals, coaching, and gear are covered.
- Can I nominate someone I'm not related to?
- Yes — friends, fellow veterans, coworkers, and neighbors are exactly the kind of nominators we're looking for.
